Who runs this site
This guide and DigiBot Studio are run by the DigiCollab project team as part of an Erasmus+ project co-funded by the European Union. They were made for a hands-on workshop with university students.
Questions? Contact the DigiCollab project team โ during the workshop, simply ask the organisers.
What happens to your prompts
DigiBot Studio can reach the AI in two ways. Your data takes a different path in each one.
๐ With the class code Normal
- You type a prompt. Your browser sends it to our small server โ together with your current page, or only the part you selected.
- Our server checks your session, waits for a free slot and forwards the request to Mistral AI.
- Mistral AI processes it in EU data centres and the answer streams back to your browser.
๐ With your own key Optional
- You paste your own Mistral API key into DigiBot Studio.
- Your browser sends prompts directly to Mistral AI. Our server is not involved.
- We never see your key or your prompts. Your use falls under your own Mistral account. How to get a key
What our server keeps
Our server does not store the text of your prompts or your pages. It holds them in memory only for the few seconds it takes to pass them on to the AI. To share the free AI budget fairly and to fix problems, it keeps anonymous counters only โ for example, how many requests were made, how many tokens (pieces of text) were used, which AI model answered and how many errors happened.
Like every website, our server sees your device's IP address (its internet address) when you connect. We use it only for technical protection โ for example, to slow down someone who guesses the class code many times โ and not to identify you.
Does the AI learn from my prompts?
On Mistral's free API plan, data may be used to improve Mistral's models unless the account owner switches this off (in the Mistral console: Admin โ Privacy โ "Anonymous improvement data"). For the class account, the organisers manage this setting. With your own key, you control it yourself โ our key guide shows how.
Please don't type personal informationWhichever path you use: don't put your or other people's names, phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers, health information, passwords or API keys into a prompt. Use placeholders like "Jane Doe" or "name@example.com" instead.
What's stored in your browser
Some features need to remember things. We save them in your browser's own storage (called local storage and session storage) on your device โ not in tracking cookies.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Chapter progress, checklist ticks, game score | So you can see what you've done | Until you clear it |
| Theme (light/dark) and presenter mode | So the site looks the way you like | Until you clear it |
| Your DigiBot site versions | So you can go back to an older version | Until you delete them or clear site data |
| Session token (your "ticket" after the class code) | So you don't type the code again and again | Expires on its own |
| Photos you add with "๐ท Add photo" (made smaller) | So DigiBot Studio can show them in your page. They are never sent to our server or to the AI โ DigiBot only gets their size and main colours | Until you remove them from your page, or clear your browser data |
| Your own Mistral key (only if you add one) | So DigiBot can talk to Mistral for you | Until you close the tab โ or, if you tick "remember on this device", until you click "Forget key" |
| A prompt sent from a chapter ("Try it in DigiBot") | To fill in the prompt box for you | Until you close the tab |
This data stays on your device. Only two things travel to our server: the session token, which DigiBot shows with each request to prove you're part of the class, and โ when you ask DigiBot something โ your prompt with your current page, as explained above.
How to delete it
- Your own key: in DigiBot Studio, open the key settings and click Forget key.
- Everything: in your browser settings, find Cookies and site data (or Privacy), look for this site and delete its data.
- Leave no trace: use a private or incognito window. Everything is deleted when you close it.
Save your work firstDeleting site data also deletes your DigiBot site versions. Download a copy of your page before you clear anything.
No ads, no trackers, no analytics
This site has no advertising, no analytics tools, no tracking cookies and no social-media buttons. It doesn't load fonts, images or scripts from other companies: everything comes from our own server.
Other companies involved
| Company | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Mistral AI (France) | Writes DigiBot's answers from your prompts (with its Codestral and Ministral models) | EU data centres |
| Groq (USA) โ optional backup | Only if the organisers set it up: it may answer some small requests (like explanations) when Mistral is busy | May be outside the EU |
Each company has its own privacy policy โ you can find them on mistral.ai and groq.com. Links on this site to other websites (for example free hosting services or AI chat apps) take you to places with their own rules.
Your rights (GDPR & KVKK)
Data protection laws โ the GDPR in the European Union and KVKK in Turkey โ give you rights over your personal data. For example, you can ask what data is stored about you, have it corrected or deleted, and complain to your national data protection authority.
Because our server doesn't store your prompts, your pages or your name, we usually have nothing personal about you to show or delete. If you have a question, contact the DigiCollab project team. For data processed by Mistral AI (for example with your own key), contact Mistral AI directly.
Age
The workshop is for adult university students. To create your own Mistral account and API key, you must be at least 18.
